Knowing how important goats are to LEGO fans, the designers went so far as to escalate this to the Vice President of Design, but alas that didn’t quite pan out the way they meant. The problem stems from the LEGO moulds in use – some of them have to be given up to start making frames for new moulds, and the mould has disappeared from existence. Wes and Austin (and nearly everyone at LEGO it seems) were well aware of how coveted the Goat element is, especially since it was only released in one set in 2011 Mill Village Raid. On the lack of goats in the Medieval Blacksmith

LEGO fans have been clamouring for LEGO to re-release goats, and in an interview with the designers of the Medieval Blacksmith, the topic came up – see below for a snippet. They’re one of the most sought after LEGO Animals in the LEGO world as they were only released in one set – 7189 Mill Village Raid from 2011, and were never re-released since, which is odd for LEGO animals as LEGO will often re-colour them or make small tweaks.Īs you can see in the above screenshot, Goats go for incredible amounts on Bricklink, and are one of the most coveted animals ever! In case you don’t quite get why this is such a massive deal, LEGO Goats have a bit of a legendary reputation in the LEGO collecting world. I only managed to get 5, and you can bet that I snagged them all! There weren’t a ton of them, so I’m not sure if someone had raided it previously. I almost had a heartache when I peered into the Build a Minifigure stations, because I spotted… LEGO Goats in them! LEGO have been ramping up their Build a Minifigure offering to draw people in-store, with new and exclusive characters only found in-store, so it’s been really interesting to discover new surprises. One of my rituals when I go into store is to check out the Build a Minifigure station for new parts, characters and accessories.

I went into my local LEGO Store (in Melbourne) today, to check out some the new April 2022 releases on shelf.
